With rising influx of technology in day to day life, the same has also become an integral part in the transportation system with digital payment solutions soon becoming a norm in the industry.
Be it online booking system for outstation and suburban trains to even booking and paying fares for fleet cabs, almost all services are being offered by digital agencies through e-wallet systems.
A popular digital payment solution recently announced its partnering with Mumbai Metro, which will enable commuters to recharge their prepaid metro cards by using their app.
Even few auto drivers in the westerns suburbs of Mumbai seem to have latched on the concept but is yet to be put into commercial use, says transport experts.
Naturally, the ease of payment is drawing more commuters to this digital form of transport ticket purchasing.
“I have latched on to e-payment for all my transportation needs. Start from paying my taxi fares to travel by metro to office, I prefer paying through the e-wallet systems as it easy and convenient. There is no hassle of tendering the exact change or ensuring you keep hard cash with you always,” says Uma Madhyan, a commuter from Thane.
“We are thrilled about the possibilities that emerge for our customers who use the e-wallet system across a wide range of merchants online and offline,” said Pallav Singh, SVP & Head of the popular fleet cab service that recently forayed in this domain.
