Geotab gets North American product leadership award

Based on recent analysis of the portable telematics solutions market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Geotab as the recipient of the 2016 North American Product Leadership award. Geotab has positioned itself as an end-to-end telematics solution provider with its proprietary Geotab GO7 device and MyGeotab web-based fleet management software. These two complementary solutions enable fleet management companies to plan and manage fleet operations cost effectively.

The Geotab GO7, a small form-factor vehicle tracking device with global positioning system (GPS) technology, offers plug-and-play convenience and integration with a vehicle’s on-board diagnostics (OBD)-II port. In addition, the GO7 introduced breadcrumb trail and Active Tracking algorithms for real-time vehicle tracking. While the breadcrumb trail algorithm pinpoints vehicle location, unlike competitors’ algorithms that indicate only a general area, the Active Tracking feature allows fleet managers to convey real-time route information to drivers.

This GO7 add-on assists fleet managers in verbally delivering crucial driving and safety information in real time. The Geotab Drive smart driver app, introduced for Android and iOS platforms, aids both drivers and managers in generating driver vehicle inspection reporting and reviewing compliance with hours-of-service.

One of the key benefits of the Geotab solution is the input-output expander (IOX) technology, which allows businesses to easily expand their fleet management capabilities for specific needs such as satellite tracking, driver ID, hours of service, camera systems, and temperature monitoring.
